Gabriel Pomerand
Saint Ghetto of the Loans
Reprinting of legendary but little seen masterpiece of French
book art from 1950, by Lettrism co-founder Gabriel Pomerand.
The book is comprised of a visual narrative derived from a variety of
signs and symbols that resemble a modern day hieroglyphic. This book
of verbo-visual poetry takes the reader on adventures through post-war
Paris' seedy and troubled streets, introducing the reader to the characters
that inhabit them and the political, social, and cultural worlds that
binds them. Bi-lingual text translated from French by Michael Kaspar
and Bhamati Viswanathan.
Paperback, perfect-bound, 120 pages, with 47 picture-poems.
