Toddy and Shelley Swindell
The Need Corpse zine

The Need Corpse features an extensive interview as well as a collection of photographs from Olympia, WA queercore band The Need. In 2000, Todd and Shelley Swindell sat down with Rachel Carns and Radio Sloan following the release of their last album The Need is Dead.  In this interview, Carns and Sloan look back on their time playing together as The Need, tracing the band’s history and their own involvement in Olympia, WA’s queercore scene. The two musicians often stray from discussing their careers and explore topics of queer identity, activism, and their personal histories. The interview, paired with the various snapshots included in the zine make for a fascinating retrospective.
